Stephanie Blake

Founder & Principal

Stephanie Blake has more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications and public relations practice and education. With in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, communication planning and implementation, along with a strong background in research, Stephanie brings a unique combination of expertise, professionalism and creativity to all projects.

Stephanie is passionately dedicated to the Colorado community and its creative and economic growth. She served as a commissioner and co-chair on the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs, is previous chair for the Denver Art Museum’s CultureHaus board, serves on the Riverfront Park Community Foundation, and has been active on a number of committees for Denver-area nonprofits.

Stephanie received her Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Minnesota, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, an M.S. in public relations from the University of Denver and a B.A. in English from the College of Wooster.

Prior to launching Blake Communications, Stephanie was assistant professor of communication at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs where she developed a strategic communication program for the department and taught courses in public relations and mass communication. Stephanie has held adjunct professor positions at University of Colorado Boulder and University of Denver, University College, where she also assisted with curriculum development.

Christie Denniston

Senior Director of Strategic Communications

Christie Denniston brings a passion for excellence and nearly 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing and corporate communications for Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and nonprofit organizations. Currently, Christie is Associate Vice President for Engagement at Utah Valley University. Prior to being named to this position she spent nearly eight years as Director of Marketing & PR for the Telitha E. Lindquist College at Weber State University. 

Previously, she served as senior director of client accounts at Catapult PR-IR where she developed strategy and led media and analyst relations for some of the world’s largest companies in the Agile software development, cloud computing, influencer marketing and wireless technology industries. She also served as director of marketing and public relations for Merit Resources, a division of Principal Financial Group. 

Christie holds her accreditation in public relations and has served as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Weber State University. In addition, she is past president of the Boulder Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Christie holds her Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations, sociology and political science from Drake University. In addition, she has a master’s degree in public administration, with an emphasis in executive leadership from Drake University. Denniston is a native of Colorado and loves nothing more than being a mom to DoubleA.

Cristina Palombo​

Public Relations Consultant

Cristina Palombo is an experienced and dynamic public relations professional with a passion for communication, a craving for creativity and a knack for finding answers to questions. With her work rooted in strategic communications, Cristina works with clients across the public, private, nonprofit and creative spheres to develop and execute campaigns that positively impact organizations and the community.

Cristina specializes in traditional media relations building strong relationships with local media on behalf of clients. Through the use of strategic messaging and consistent outreach, she has secured placements in numerous local and regional media outlets including 5280 Magazine, 303 Magazine, Denver Business Journal, The Denver Post, 9NEWS, Channel 7, Fox 31, CBS4 and many more. A fluent Spanish speaker, Cristina has spearheaded bilingual media outreach campaigns on behalf of clients.

Cristina is a University of Colorado Boulder graduate with degrees in Psychology and Journalism.
