Stephanie Blake, Ph.D., APR – Chief Engagement Strategist

Stephanie Blake has over 15 years of experience in strategic communications and public relations practice and education. With in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, communication planning and implementation, along with a strong background in research, Stephanie brings a unique combination of expertise, professionalism and creativity to all projects. Previous and current clients include the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Brookfield Office Properties/Arts Brookfield, Colorado Foreclosure Hotline, Family Tree, Heinrich Marketing, Ambient Life Photography and The Dixon Collective, among others.

Stephanie is highly dedicated to the Denver community and its creative and economic growth. She serves as a commissioner on the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs (and on a subcommittee for Imagine 2020, Denver’s cultural plan launched in March 2014) and is current chair of the Denver Art Museum’s CultureHaus board. She has been active on a number of committees for Denver-area nonprofits, including PlatteForum and Colorado AIDS Project.

Stephanie received her Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Minnesota, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, an M.S. in public relations from the University of Denver and a B.A. in English from the College of Wooster.

Prior to launching Blake Communications, Stephanie was assistant professor of communication at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs where she developed a strategic communication program for the department and taught courses in public relations and mass communication. Currently, Stephanie is an adjunct professor at University of Denver’s University College and University of Colorado Boulder.


Christine Denniston, APR – Senior Director of Public Relations

Christie Denniston brings a passion for excellence and more than 15 years of experience in public relations, marketing and corporate communications for Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and nonprofit organizations. Currently, Denniston is an Adjunct Professor and Director of Marketing & PR for the Telitha E. Lindquist College at Weber State University. Previously, she served as senior director of client accounts at Catapult PR-IR where she developed strategy and led media and analyst relations for some of the world’s largest companies in the Agile software development, cloud computing, influencer marketing and wireless technology industries. She also served as director of marketing and public relations for Merit Resources, a division of Principal Financial Group. In addition, Denniston holds her accreditation in public relations and has served as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Colorado at Boulder and is past-president of the Boulder Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Denniston holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations, sociology and political science from Drake University. In addition, she has a Master’s degree in public administration, with an emphasis in executive leadership from Drake University. Denniston is a native of Colorado and is an avid weight lifter and runner.

Cristina Ceballo – Public Relations Contractor

Cristina Ceballo joined the Blake Communications team as the public relations and social media coordinator in July of 2014. She is now contracting with Blake Communications. Prior to her work with Blake, Cristina worked with ESPN Denver on the promotions team; Business Enterprise Institute, building the marketing team; and with the Cherry Creek Arts Festival social media street team.

Cristina is a University of Colorado Boulder graduate with degrees in Psychology and Journalism. With experience in communication planning, promotions and social media, she brings a strong foundation to the public relations field and to Blake Communications.

Cristina loves traveling, spending time with family and friends and enjoying all Colorado has to offer.
